Back to Posting!

"When Life Gives You Lemons...", oil on board, 11 x14"

It feels good to get back at posting again, and I apologize for the long absence. I just haven't had the energy or enthusiasm to get back at my art since Mom died and Christmas happened. But I went out painting with Ingrid yesterday, and that was the very best medicine (stay tuned for the results of that trip). The painting above is the last one I did before Mom took so sick -it seems to be quite ironic actually. So I am taking its advice and will indeed make 'lemonade'. Good to be back!

So happy to see you're back to posting, and to painting! Blessings to you as you continue to move forward with your own life. And blessings to your mother as she does the same in her new life. She is always with you, and you will know her presence in spirit. You're only separated by a very thin veil.

I'm looking forward to keeping up with your work and your journey in art.

Thank you so much Diane!I went to your blog and spent a whole lot of time there. I love your cat paintings -some of the best I have seen. And I was enthralled by your "Mull it over Mondays". Keep up the good work!

Hi Sharon -- glad you're back, I missed you.

I imagine your holiday season was full of both joy and pain. And if I may pass on some words a good friend shared with me about "making lemonade"
- lemonade is cool and refreshing both for the maker and for others invited to drink
- lemonade is meant to be shared
- everyone's recipe for lemonade is different
- remember that the drink is that much more special because the fruit is bitter but the drink is sweet

Lessons for life are where we find them.

Wishing you peace and strength through your creative gift

And just a comment about your lemon painting -- it's vibrant and full of light. You might want to keep this one...

PS and a great student study on painting shadows on yellow globes...!

So lifelike your lemons. In my opinion, worth the wait.
