FREE GIVEAWAY CONTINUES and new plein air painting by Sharon Lynn Williams

"Elbow Falls Ledge", 9x9", plein air oil on board
SOLD

Elbow Falls is one of my favorite places to paint as it has many moods in different seasons and conditions. There was a lot of water flowing over it on this day, and I was taken by the colours of the water in the sun and in the shade. I think I will do a large painting from this one!

Today I am painting at Vale's Greenhouses in Black Diamond. There are 43 artists in this show, and many will be doing demonstrations, so it should be a fun time. The artwork is displayed amongst the flowers in the greenhouses, so rain or shine, it will be great.

Enjoy!

FREE GIVEAWAY and new plein air oil painting by Sharon Lynn Williams

"Bow River From Bearspaw", 7 x 12", plein air oil on board
$495.00 beautifully framed, free shipping and handling

I love what water does to land as it snakes its way past over years and years. The far cliffs of the Bow River were in great contrast to the rich farmland on the other side. Got to love the patterns and colours created everywhere you look, if you really look for them.

I have just finished updating the text part of my website. You will find my fall teaching schedule there complete with registration links, along with a new artists statement, CV and exhibition schedule, and a few new galleries I have been accepted in to (Swirl Fine Art & Design in Art Central in Calgary; and Art Beat Gallery in St. Albert). I am in the process of working on the painting images, but that is a huge job so will take a while. Especially since I keep messing things up so that it takes me even longer. My lovely daughter built that site for me as a birthday gift a couple of years ago, but unfortunately it only came with a minimal amount of HTML teaching :)

FREE PAINTING GIVEAWAY and new plein air oil painting by Sharon Lynn Williams

"Across The Prairie", 11 x 14", plein air oil on board
$625 beautifully framed, free shipping and handling

I couldn't believe this sight when I first laid eyes on it. It is the view from Rock Point Church out past Bearspaw on the 1A highway. I loved how the middle ground was gone, leaving this lone farm to front the fabulous Rockies. It was a very happy day :)

FREE PAINTING GIVEAWAY and new plein air oil painting by Sharon Lynn Williams

"Afternoon Light", 8x10", plein air oil on board
$150 unframed plus shipping and handling

Another painting from Big Hill Springs Provincial Park, this one done at the end of the day after the teaching was done. The light was actually better on this scene earlier in the day, but I thought the challenge of painting the waterfall in the shadows would be a good one, and I had great fun making up all the colours in it.

FREE PAINTING GIVE AWAY & New plein air oil painting by Sharon Lynn Williams

"Morning Light", 9 x 12", plein air oil on board
$595 plus GST, free shipping and handling

This is the demo I did for my FCA plein air workshop, day 2. We went to Big Hill Springs Provincial Park and it was a glorious day. I had 9 eager painters in the workshop, and I spent my day climbing up and down the trails along the waterfalls looking for painters to help. My chief tip for the day was "Figure out who/what your STAR is, and then orchestrate the other elements around it". Great advice for plein air painting.
