"Annie's Midnight Garden", plein air oil painting by Sharon Lynn Williams

"Annie's Midnight Garden", 9x12" plein air oil painting
SOLD

As I am futzing in my studio right now so I thought I would post some work that I did last year and never posted. The one above is my second nocturne ever, and I did it late at night this summer in my friend Annie's garden (guess you could have figured out that by the title eh?). It was quite fun -Annie had lit a circle of candles for me to paint by, and while it was lovely and romantic, it really wasn't enough light to see what colours I was mixing. Soon out came an electric lamp on an extension chord and I was off to the races.

Enjoy!

"Mr. Reader's Rock Garden", plein air oil painting by Sharon Lynn Williams

"Mr. Reader's Rock Garden", plein air oil painting, 9 x 12"
SOLD

This is actually the first painting I did at Reader Rock Gardens. The gardens are built on the side of a very steep hill which gives an interesting perspective when you are standing at the bottom looking up. The peonies at the top were the very last ones of the season, so I was very lucky to catch them.

Enjoy!

The Great WORLDWIDE Paintout Continues!

I spent today painting at my friend Annie's studio and gallery in High River, Alberta, called Art & Soul Gallery. It happened to be Alberta Art Day as well, but I don't think they knew about the Great Worldwide Paintout - a coincidence?

"Annie's Place", plein air oil painting, 12 x 9"

It was a splendid day and I think I managed to capture the feeling of inviting warmth that I felt there. Enjoy!
